A 120 metres high building is planned to be erected at Kopaszi-gát

Several thousands of flats could be built in the upcoming years in the empty areas of Kopaszi-gát – revealed Gergely Árendás, Property Market Ltd.’s CEO. The investment will be realised as a part of the BudaPart project, on a total area of 24 acres. The land was purchased in December 2015 by Market Group, pertaining to István Garancsi, and the company was later joined by Constellation Hotels Holding Ltd., a Qatari corporation, as co-owners. The new district’s construction could be started before the end of this year – it will be completed in several phases.

The company commissioned the designs to be made by Adept, a Danish architecture studio, who were responsible for the planning of several similar waterside buildings in cities such as Copenhagen and Stockholm, and also in Norway. The entirety of the project encompasses an area of 560-600 000 m2, which the investors are planning to complete in 8-10 years’ time. Half of that area would be designated as offices, and the other half as residential homes, also including a pedestrian precinct leading towards the Danube with retail spaces up to several tens of thousands m2.

As promised by the investor, despite the size of the built-up areas to be, the amount of green areas will still not be less than 60-65%. The blocks of flats will consist of 100-300 flat each, built around a central park area. A total of 27 blocks will be constructed, which, again, will also contain offices and retail areas as well.

Pedestrians, cyclists and car drivers will be able to use the respective roads simultaneously, while “smart city” apps will be created, such as one for checking the available parking spaces on your mobile.

Flats of almost any sizes will be available, while the height of the blocks will differ: there will be buildings with 4-5 floors and even with 15. The designers also envisioned a 120 metres high tower next to the entrance of the area near to the Danube, but negotiations are still underway about its construction. The total expenses of the project will reach 200 billion HUF, according to plans.
